INSERVICE  MEETINGS

08/10/09  J.B. Pennington High School Auditorium 8:00 A.M. -  11:30 A.M.
                 Lunch 11:30 A.M. -  12:30 P.M.
                 Local Schools 12:30 P.M. -    3:00 P.M.         
            
08/11/09  Local Schools - Professional Development 8:00 A.M. -    3:00 P.M. 

WORK DAY FOR TEACHERS

08/12/09   Teachers will attend faculty meetings and work in schools.

OPENING DATE OF SCHOOLS

08/13/09   Regular full day schedule.

SCHOOLS WILL BE CLOSED AS FOLLOWS:
09/07/09    Labor Day Holiday
10/12/09    Columbus Day (Flex Day-Professional Development Activities)
10/26/09   Professional Development Activities from 12:00 noon to 3:00 P.M. and Statewide Parenting Day – Teachers will be in schools
for parent meetings from 3:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M.
11/11/09    Veterans Day Holiday
11/25/09 - 11/27/09    Thanksgiving Holidays
12/21/09 - 01/01/10    Christmas Holidays.  Schools will reconvene on Tuesday, January 5, 2010.
01/04/10    Teachers will work in schools (half day) and participate in Professional Development activities (half day)
01/18/10    Martin Luther King's Birthday* (Weather Day)
02/15/10    Presidents Day* (Weather Day)
03/12/10    March Holiday* (Weather Day)
04/12/10 - 04/16/10      Spring Break
05/27/10 Last day of school.  Regular full day schedule.
05/28/10   Teachers will work in schools.

*In the event schools are closed due to weather conditions or for any other reason, days will most probably be made up according to the following schedule.

1st Day – January 18th     2nd Day – February 15th     3rd Day – March 12th

Any additional days missed will most probably be made up at the end of the school year.

Principals are not permitted to dismiss school early without written permission of the Board and/or Superintendent except in times of emergency when the lives and safety of students are endangered.

EXAMINATION SCHEDULE

1ST SEMESTER:
1ST NINE WEEKS (41 Days): October 8 & 9
ISSUE REPORT CARDS BY: October 23

2ND NINE WEEKS (44 Days): December 17 &18
ISSUE REPORT CARDS BY: January 15

2ND SEMESTER:
3RD NINE WEEKS (46 Days): March 10 & 11
ISSUE REPORT CARDS BY: March 26

1ST SEMESTER:
1ST NINE WEEKS (49 Days): May 26 & 27
ISSUE REPORT CARDS BY: May 28
