Athletic Training |

Certified athletic trainers are health care professionals who specialize in preventing, recognizing, managing and rehabilitating injuries that result from physical activity. As part of a complete health care team, the certified athletic trainer works under the direction of a licensed physician and in cooperation with other health care professionals, athletics administrators, coaches and parents.
A Student Trainer should be familiar with the six performance domains established by the BOC*
- Prevention
- Clinical evaluation and diagnosis
- Immediate care
- Treatment, rehabilitation, and reconditioning
- Organization and Administration
- Professional responsibility

Mrs Peggy Harris is the Athletic Trainer at Locust Fork High School. Mrs Harris has been the ATC at Locust Fork for five years now. She has her bachelor's degree in Athletic Training. She earned this degree at the University of West Alabama. After Mrs Harris graduated from West Alabama, she did an internship at Troy University for a year. Mrs Harris worked in a physical therapy clinic in Demopolis, Alabama for three years. She was also a trainer at Clay Chalkville High School before coming to Locust Fork. "Mrs Harris is such a inspiration to me. She has helped me in so many ways with Athletic Training. She puts so much time and effort into Locust Fork High School Athletics," stated Athletic Trainer Megan Cook. Locust Forks athletic program would not be where it is today without Mrs Peggy Harris.
