Band Resume

The Locust Fork High School Band "Emrald Night" has received over 680 Superior Ratings since 1978. During the past 15 years we have received All Superior Ratings in virtually every marching band contest we have entered. In addition, during this same time we have won “Best in Class” Band, Drum Major, Percussion and Color Guard 63 times in contest that offered that distinction.

--In 2005, 1999 and 1997 we performed in the “Disney Magic Music Days” program at ”Disney World” in Orlando, Florida

--In 2003 we performed at “Busch Gardens “ in Williamsburg, Virginia.

--In 2001 we performed at “Universal Studios” in Florida.

--In 1990 we were selected as the Class A winner of the John Phillip Sousa Society's "Sudler Shield International Marching Band Contest".

“Emrald Night” has performed for such dignitaries as Presidential Candidate Pat Robertson, former Alabama First Lady Marsha Folsom, and former Alabama Governor Guy Hunt.

--All Superior Ratings at the 2001 and 2004 "Pinson Valley Marching Band Festavial".

--All Superior Ratings at the 2000 "Mud Creek Marching Band Festavial".

--All Superior Ratings; Best in Class Band, Drum Major, Color Guard and Percussion at the 1996 "Vestavia Hills Marching Festival".

--All Superior Ratings at the 1990, 1991, 1992, 1994, 1995 "South Central Marching Festival". Best in Class Winner 1990, 1993, 1994, and 1995.

--All Superior Ratings; Best in Class Band, Color Guard, and Percussion at the 1990 "Six Flags Over Georgia Marching Band Festival".

--All Superior Ratings; Best in Class Band, Drum Major, and Color Guard at the 1991 and 1994 "Vulcan Invitational for Marching Bands".

--All Superior Ratings; Best in Class Band, Drum Major, and Color Guard at the 1989, 1990 and 1991
"Southern Classic Marching Contest".

--All Superior Ratings; Best in Class winner; and Challenge Cup winner at the 1988, 1989, 1990 and 1991
