The Student Spotlight

The Student Spotlight is a weekly feature on locustforkhornets.com. Every week the Student Council selects students for the Student Spotlight. This is a special privilege that is granted to students for their high standards of citizenship and willingness to help others. Students are not chosen based on any academic or athletic standards. Students are also chosen for leadership and impact on fellow students and teachers. The Junior High Spotlight will be chosen from the 7th through 9th grade and the Senior High Spotlight will be chosen from the 10th throught 12 grade.

Jr. High

Week 4

Brittney Raymond is a fourteen-year-old 8th grader who enjoys reading. Her favorite book is Harry Potter and her favorite authors are J.K. Rowling and J.R.R. Tolkien. She wants to attend the University of Alabama, but also hopes to become a veterinarian.

Brittney comments, “If it was up to me I would have an entire house of animals.” She currently owns two dogs Abby and Brandy and wishes to own a horse.

She was chosen for the student spotlight for being a hard working, considerate individual.

Week 3

Josh Savage is a freshman on the J.V. football team. He is acclaimed for taking various steps to become a strong leader in his class. He has a renewed attitude for punctuality, and has offered and is helping his fellow classmates with their schoolwork.

Week 2

Kristina Olmstead is a hard working individual with a great attitude. She stands up form the crowd by participating in classes and reaching for excellence in her own schoolwork.

Week 1

Megan Addaway is praised for her willingness to step out of her comfort zone and welcome new students. She takes initiative with tasks without being asked. She is continually friendly to people she encounters.

Sr. High

Kayla Wade is a sophomore. She enjoys playing soccer, singing, and attending football games. Her favorite artists and bands are Kelly Clarkson, Usher and Crossfade. Her favorite subject is Biology.

She plans on going to The University of Alabama with plans to become a Heart Doctor. She is motivated by the fact that her little sister is a heart patient.

She is involved in a local youth group and sings at Locust Fork Baptist’s youth choir. Kayla was nominated for assisting he teachers and efficiently completing her assignments.

Week 3

Britt Sewell was nominated for her positive attitude, and her respect for her classmates and teachers. She also keeps up with her schoolwork while maintaining a steady job.

Week 2

Jerry Hamilton was chosen for always being prepared for his classes and helping others whenever he can.

Week 1

April Maddox was selected for her overwhelmingly generous spirit towards other. She is always willing to give and help where she can. She gives selflessly to any and all.
