Silly Putty

Silly putty

Glue, water, borax...? In a recent chemistry lab, the Locust Fork students performed an experiment to make silly putty. "This experiment showed how scientists use the scientific method," stated Mrs. Daugherty, the chemistry teacher. This taught the students you have to follow the directions in order to get the correct outcome. They had to keep the amount of water, glue, and borax balanced, but they weren't given a set amount to use. During this experiment the students had fun making silly putty, but also learned about the scientific method.
